Perkins Pond is a 157-acre, spring-fed lake nestled at 1,082 feet, shaped by a 704-acre watershed of forests, wetlands, and nearby homes. A shallow pond — with an average depth of about 4.5 feet, and maximum depth of 9 feet — the pond is closely connected to the land around it. Water, nutrients, and sediments move easily between the watershed and the pond, making water quality especially sensitive to runoff, shoreline practices, and upstream care.

With nearly 13,000 feet of shoreline, Perkins Pond supports rich habitat for fish, turtles, and birds, including loons whose calls define summer evenings.
